The New Cadillac ATS Revealed

Little is known of the whispered-about car, recently seen storming the Nurburgring Track in Germany, except that it will be the first of its kind. The ATS is going to be the American manufacturer’s first foray into the entry-level segment, designed to do two things: Introduce drivers to fast, fun-feeling and most importantly affordable Cadillac for the first time, and put the likes of BMW’s 3 series, Mercedes’ C class and Audi’s A4 on their heels.

Few details have leaked about the extremely hush-hush vehicle so far, but it’s stirring a lot of interest in the luxury brand for those who previously felt it was inaccessible. Believed to be under its hood is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with an optional V6 model. It’s also speculated that the ATS will feature Cadillac’s new CUE technology – an innovative driver-interface system designed to revolutionize the manufacturer’s already famed driving experience. Further rumors abound that by 2015 Cadillac will release the ATS-V, loaded with their powerful V8 engine. The ATS will be a rear-wheel drive sports machine.
